ART GOLD LEBANON, A NEW RESTARTING
The UN initiative Art Gold is underway in some countries all over the world. It works in Lebanon since 2007 aiming at linking the emergency and reconstruction phases to a coherent and comprehensive development process. UN Art initiative (Articulating Territorial and thematic networks for human development cooperation) brings together programs and activities of several United Nations Agencies and promotes a new kind for multilateralism in which the UN system works with governments to boost the active participation of local communities and social actors from all countries. ART shares the Millennium Development Goals to achieve by 2015. In the concerned countries, ART supports national cooperation framework programs for Governance and Local Development (GOLD) to provide the institutional set up that allows nationals and international actors to contribute to the country’s human development in an organized and complementary way. National Assembly Speaker Jassem Mohammad Al-Kharafi yesterday strongly condemned Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. On the 15th and 16th December there was in Taormina the 6th meeting of Mediterranean countries Foreign Ministers of European Union, named Olive Group. Kuwaiti ambassador presents credentials in Baghdad
The new Kuwaiti ambassador in Baghdad, Ali al Mumein, presented today credentials to the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. Talabani underlined the history of brotherhood between the two countries in a presidential press release. Over 18 years later the Kuwaiti invasion by Saddam Hussein troops, the Emirate announced the decision to appoint an ambassador in Baghdad, after the election of other diplomatic delegates in countries like Syria, Jordan and United Arab Emirates. GCC monetary union, single currency trigger economic integration
